Just like 275 is not 300, 285 also is not 300. I improved and am closer to my goal of 315+ which is satisfying. It’s satisfying in the same way that getting a blowjob by a fat, toothless hillbilly is satisfying though. If I really wanted to I could brag about “getting some”, but it’s much better to keep aiming for the big prize.

One thing I pride myself on is being able to see the brighter side of things. In this case I now have a better idea of my weak points within the APFT (running pace and sit-up endurance), re-realiziation of how important nutrition/recovery are and also have the confidence that I can make gains APFT wise without doing countless reps of push-ups and sit-ups. That concept has already been covered by Donnie Kiernan in “Maximize Your PT”.

Just like in every other aspect of training, if it came easy everyone would do it. Now it’s time to make the tweeks to my plan and hit it hard until my next APFT in about 3 weeks.
